Black Eyed Peas will Share a Great Deal of their Inexhaustible Energy with Prague

Prague, 18 January 2010 – American hip-hop band Black Eyed Peas (BEP) set out on The E.N.D. World Tour shortly after releasing its latest album. As part of the tour, the band will also perform in the Czech Republic for the first time.

The performance is scheduled for Sunday, 16 May 2010, 8:00 p.m., in O2 arena, Prague. Tickets go on sale on Friday, 22 January.

A Tour Replete with Energy
The name of the BEP’s world tour is derived from their latest album The E.N.D., which, surprisingly, does not mean the “end”; it stands for The Energy Never Dies. The tour started in September in Japan, followed by Australia and New Zeeland in October, with North America to follow in February to April, while Europeans can look forward to their favourite band in May.
BEP will bring a colossal stage with them, with a ‘pier’ extending to as far as the middle of the arena. On the one hand, this will allow for the band’s direct contact with the audience; on the other hand, this will shrink the ground floor area capacity of standing audience to only 3,500 spectators. The colossal size of the stage will also reduce the capacity of the other O2 arena floors.

About Black Eyed Peas
BEP formed in 1995 and, since 2003 (when singer Fergie joined the band) the group has been composed of the following members: multi-instrumentalist will.i.am, singer apl.de.ap, rapper Taboo and singer Fergie. The E.N.D. is their fifth album.

BEP’s best-known songs include smash hits such as Shut Up, Let’s Get It Started, Don’t Lie, Don't Phunk With My Heart, My Humps, Pump It, Where Is The Love?, the summer mega-hit I gotta Feeling or the single Meet Me Halfway, which currently stays at top of world charts.

BEP have also received numerous awards, including three Grammy Awards. With six nominations, BEP also have six irons in the fire for the 2009 Grammy Awards, which will be presented in Los Angeles on 31 January 2010.

Barack Obama’s Composer
Will.i.am, the band frontman was one of the central figures of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign – he is the author of music collage “Yes We Can” and of the songs to celebrate President Obama’s victory: “America's Song” and “It's A New Day”.

A Formative Woman
Singer Fergie is also well-known as a film and television actress. In addition to numerous child roles, she also starred in the Nine musical, released in the United States on 25 December 2009. This is a film version of a famous Broadway musical. Fergie plays Saraghina, one of the formative women in the life of the leading character, a famous film director who is facing a midlife crisis. The film has been nominated for Golden Globe Awards in five categories.
In 2006, Fergie released Dutchess, her first and only album thus far.
