The greatest venue in the Czech republic, the O2 arena, opens its gates to visitors after 18 months of forced COVID-19 break.

The first artist, obtaining the privilege of being the opening act after such a long time, the Queenie, will rock the stage with three megashows in a row called Queen Relived. The Czech largest venue, the O2 arena, has been waiting for this moment for more than a year and a half. Thanks to the loosening restrictions for culture scene, approved by the Czech governement earlier this week, the possibility of holding concerts to the full audience capacity is now again allowed in the Czech republic.

During the very first weekend of September, the Queen Relived three concert shows will amaze the Czech audience. The Czech tribute band Queenie pays homage to the British legend and is looking forward to welcome their fans again on September 3rd, 4th and 5th.

According to the most updated governement regulations valid from September 1st, the cultural events promoters will be allowed to enable access full capacity of the venue. The first 3000 people will be allowed access to the building with their vaccination certificate, a negative test or post-illness confirmation. The remaining capacity can be visited by people who are vaccinated, with post-illness confirmation or also with a negative test, but those may not make up more than 50% of the remaining capacity. This is a significant successful shift for all large venues of this sort, such as O2 arena or O2 universum, after more than 500 days of outage.

We are very pleased that this release has occured and that we can fill the 100 % capacity of the auditorium for sports and cultural events, and we are more than ready to welcome the audience after the longest eighteen months in our history again. The measures have a number of limitations and the reality is, that all this means associated time-consuming double control before entering the arena. The visitor will first have to prove whether he meets one of the given hygienic conditions and then will be allowed to follow the ticket check at the turnstiles. However, the available numbers prove of more than 50 % vaccination coverage of the Czech republic population, so we believe that we will fit into the given limits and all ticket holders will get into the O2 arena without any problems and we will be able to promote other upcoming events,“ says Robert Schaffer, CEO of O2 arena & O2 universum.

Spectacular restart

After a year and a half, the O2 arena sets off in a big style. The Czech music band Queenie will present their megashow called Queen Relived worth tens of millions CZK, which can rub shoulders with the biggest international artists concert scenes. The audience will rock the O2 arena on September 3rd, 4th and 5th. The exceptional show will be held in the spirit of Freddie Mercury´s 75th birthday anniversary celebration.

I can´t even describe how grateful we are about this news. We can´t wait to play in the O2 arena for our fans. Queen Relived was planned to be a monstrous show which cannot be compared to any other in the Czech republic. The long forced cultural fast gives it a completely different dimension. „The Show Must Go On“ thus takes on a new meaning. We are excited that Queenie can be the one to reopen the O2 arena. The show must continue!“ said Queenie frontman Michael Kluch.

Visitors can look forward for the most famous Queen superhits in the original arrangements and tones, and also for the most modern technologies, great lights and multimedia show. The generous black and gold stage decorations were designed by the renowned stage designer Martin Hruška, who took part in many other concert shows of the greatest Czech artists but also Madonna. The show includes moving parts of the stage, hovering over the audience, giant screens, pyrotechnics and many more.
