About Lottery Winners
Their fifth studio album Anxiety Replacement Therapy was released on 28 April 2023 and debuted at number one in the UK Official Albums Chart. It was the fifth best-selling album of the first week of the year, selling more copies in the UK than U2 and Miley Cyrus. The album received worldwide critical acclaim. The album deals with mental illness and ADHD in a biographical, chronological story of personal redemption. The song “Letter to Myself” was written to 12-year-old Thom after he was expelled from school and felt like a misfit, so she tells him that everything will be okay. ‘Worry’, ‘Long Way Down’ and the anti-depressant love song ‘Sertraline’ are also among those dealing with more problematic themes. As the album progresses, the mood lightens, with songs like ‘Not Alone’ and ‘Let Me Down’ providing Thom with solace on his journey. The conclusion is ‘Anxiety Replacement Therapy’, which poetically ties together all the other songs on the album.
