THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS – A Beautiful Lie vs This Is War
American rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars are returning to Prague! Brothers Jared and Shannon Leto will bring their spectacular A Beautiful Lie vs This Is War tour to Prague’s O2 arena on 18 May 2027, celebrating two landmark albums in their career. Fans can look forward to a powerful live show filled with emotion, energy and songs that defined a generation. From unforgettable hits “The Kill” and “From Yesterday” to anthems such as “Kings and Queens” and “This Is War”, Thirty Seconds to Mars will take audiences on a journey through two iconic records that helped shape modern alternative rock.
Few bands manage to define an era while continuing to evolve across decades. Thirty Seconds to Mars are one of them. Led by charismatic frontman Jared Leto and his brother Shannon, the band have sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and established themselves as one of the most compelling live acts today. Their performances combine spectacular production, an intense connection with the audience and an unmistakable atmosphere that has earned them a devoted global following.
Thirty Seconds to Mars began their musical journey with their self-titled debut album in 2002. Their worldwide breakthrough arrived three years later with A Beautiful Lie (2005), which propelled the band onto the biggest stages around the world. The album produced essential tracks such as “The Kill”, “From Yesterday” and the title song “A Beautiful Lie”, which remain among the most beloved moments of their live shows.
The follow-up album This Is War (2009) took the band’s sound to an even more epic scale. Songs such as “Kings and Queens”, “This Is War” and “Closer to the Edge” became anthems for a generation, confirming Thirty Seconds to Mars’ ability to combine alternative rock with sweeping melodies and emotional intensity. These two albums now form the heart of the new world tour, offering fans a rare chance to revisit one of the most defining chapters of the band’s history.
In the years that followed, Thirty Seconds to Mars continued to evolve with Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams (2013) and America (2018), the latter featuring standout singles “Walk on Water” and “Rescue Me”. Their sixth studio album, It’s the End of the World but It’s a Beautiful Day, arrived in 2023 and demonstrated the band’s willingness to explore new musical directions and connect with new generations of listeners.
In 2026, the band celebrated the twentieth anniversary of A Beautiful Lie with a special re-release featuring four previously unreleased tracks, including a long-awaited acoustic version of their biggest hit, “The Kill”. The release was accompanied by a new music video reflecting on the band’s twenty-year journey and their extraordinary connection with fans.
Throughout their career, Thirty Seconds to Mars have received numerous accolades, including multiple MTV Awards, a Billboard Music Award and a Guinness World Record for the longest-running concert tour in history. Their ambition to push boundaries was also evident in the way Jared Leto announced the Seasons World Tour 2024 in 2023: he became the first person ever to climb the outside of New York City’s Empire State Building.
In 2027, Thirty Seconds to Mars will embark on another extensive world tour, with dates across Europe, the United Kingdom, South Africa and further destinations to be announced. A Beautiful Lie vs This Is War promises a return to the music that shaped a generation of fans while demonstrating why Thirty Seconds to Mars remain a major force in rock more than two decades into their career.
The Prague concert at O2 arena on 18 May 2027 will be an evening with Thirty Seconds to Mars, with no support act and a performance lasting approximately two hours.
